Thanks for the inspiration! I am doing the Princess in two weeks. I have never dressed up for a Disney race (and I’ve done 9 of them) but decided I would try for this one. I wanted to do Belle in the blue dress. My first half ever was Princess 2010 and the closest I got to Belle was a white long-sleeved technical shirt under a blue short-sleeved shirt!

I used your pictures as a guide and found a pattern that I had for a wrap dress that I used just the front piece of along with the straps. I walk the races and normally wear a hydration belt but I’m contemplating a slimmer belt just for food since Disney races have plenty of water stops. Hope it all works out. At the very least I have a Belle-inspired apron!

Your mom’s comment cracked me up! My mom helped me too!

Awesome blog. Happy you joined the cause and saw the value in connecting even if you weren’t a Black girl who runs. White girls running is equally as righteous. Not being intimidated by inter-community outreach is a beautiful way to support everyone’s efforts to better their community, which is ultimately ALL of our communities. And I look forward to joining the movement my damn self.
